There are many ghosts and spirits found in New York City, especially in Greenwich Village, one of New York’s oldest neighborhoods and a popular spirit hangout.
The restaurant One if by Land, Two if by Sea is the popular haunt of Aaron Burr, the former U.S. Vice President who, these days, is primarily known for killing Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804.
The restaurant’s ambiance is romantic, with lovely piano music providing the backdrop to a dining experience reminiscent of another age. However, some unsuspecting patrons have encountered the angry spirit of Aaron Burr, who is said to move chairs out from under guests, bump waiters’ serving trays, sending food and dishes crashing, send a chilly air around the dining room, and create havoc with the fire in the fireplace.
